About a month ago I mentioned that Chatswood Adventist Church will be participating in the Bible Society’s Jesus. All about life campaign and we are seriously excited about this. What follows is the heads up on some of the things we will be doing during this campaign so others can learn of and experience the abundant life that Jesus promised.
JAAL Sermon Series – Sat, 11.00am-12.15pm
Want to know what Jesus was all about? Check out Luke 4:18-19,” The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has annointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sigh for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” To help break this down we have created a six part sermon series:

Not sure if Jesus was the Creator of Life? Come listen to Dr John Hartnett from Creation Ministries International and consider the evidence for Creation and evolution. Lunch will be provided.

Stories. Fun. Music. Craft. Food. Care. Play. All this plus an awesome opportunity for parents to connect with other parents!
Who is Jesus? – Wed or Thu, 7.30pm-9.00pm
Credible historians, scholars and experts – atheists and Christians alike – all believe Jesus existed so the question is not, “Did Jesus exist?” but “Who is Jesus?” This six part DVD/small group series will introduce us to Bruce Marchiano (Oct 14 or 15), the actor who played the role of Jesus in the Matthew series, and then unpack what Jesus had to say about:
Healing from sickness and death – Oct 21 or 22
How should we treat each other – Oct 28 or 29
Worry-free living – Nov 11 or 12
Fear of the future – Nov 18 or 19
God’s Kingdom – Nov 25 or 26
Parenting Course (0-5 year olds) – Sat, 9.30am-10.40am
Keen to learn some Christian tips for parenting? This is an eight week Focus on the Family course that will start on Oct 17 and finish on Dec 5. Cost $20pp or $35 per couple.

This year our annual Christmas Service will be a celebration of Jesus. All about life! A scrummy vegetarian Christmas Lunch will be provided.
