Is it possible to have “Peace on Earth”?

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Christmas and peace. They seem to go hand in hand. But what is this peace that Jesus Christ came to give?

This Saturday I will be preaching my last sermon for 2008 and I will share three personal stories from this year along with four songs to illustrate and encourage the kind of peace I KNOW is possible! Economic crisis. Financial crisis. Energy crisis. Climate crisis. Poverty. Global arms trade. Racism. War on terror. When a person has a living relationship with Jesus Christ and they experience Him in the minutia, in comparatively insignificant detail, they can rest assured that God’s concern and His sovereignty extends across the whole globe!

Happy Christmas everybody. Rest in Him! Joy to the earth!

Christmas Service and Lunch – this Saturday, Dec 6, 11.00am

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Yes it’s our Christmas Service this Saturday and I’m excited. This year we are having our Christmas Service on our Testimony Day which means I don’t have to preach! :) No, seriously, the reason I’m excited is because our guests this weekend will have the opportunity to hear first hand how the Christmas story is still changing and impacting our church’ s lives 2,000 years later.

Has the Christmas story changed you? Is knowing Jesus impacting your life today? Not feeling so good about Christmas this year? Want to know how God can help? Feel free to mosey down to the “the church you belong to” this Saturday at 11.00am for carols and stories and the best Christmas lunch you’ll find anywhere!
